Every city has its hip, cool club where everyone dresses to impress and parties to be seen. Spice Gastro Bar and Lounge is one of those hot spots. Located on N Park St in the city's Short North neighborhood, this club consists of three main areas: The Roosevelt Room, which tends to be the quieter of the two, and whose décor consists mainly of taxidermied animals; the dining room and

the main dancefloor. More popular on summer nights though, is the outdoor Patio, which features blazing fire torches and a fully-stocked (and less busy) outdoor bar. If you're an apartment-ite flush with cash, you can rent out one of the cabanas near the Patio for a private party.

Drinks here are on the expensive side ($7 for martinis), as are food offerings ($10 for hummus), but this is likely to keep up the upscale appearances in the hopes of maintaining its painfully swanky clientele. It's a little odd to have a bar like this in a mostly college town, but this does provide a welcome change from regular sports bars. Thursday nights offer $1 martinis, and many of their signature recipes are pretty eye-catching (try the lime vodka martini with wasabi pea trim). Not a bad place, but certainly overpriced compared to other bars in the area. There is a dress code, so best leave those bleach-stained jeans back at your apartment.
